Adrian Belina is the creator director  from Jam3Meida and also graduated from IMM. He is the co-founder of the most reputable creative shops in Toronto. Adrian spoke about animation using flash do’s and don’ts . The advice that Adrian gave was very valuable and opened my eyes to how much motion makes a different in any flash application.

- Make your tweens using TweenMax or Tween Lite stay away from timeline

- do not do to much bounce or elastic

- using tweenlite shrinks the filesize

- stay away from linear twenes

-if you tween in tween out.

Spatial View is the leading company in 3D technology. They allow you to purchase a 3D overlay, with the software for you laptop, phone. The overlay takes objects and makes them look like the are extruding out of the screen. They have defiantly raise the bars in mobile gaming. From having the simple brick game on your phone to having an iPhone with decent graphics but them becoming 3D is something I didn’t think would have been developed yet.

GestureTek

April 28, 2009 by pedulla

Sheridan IMM students took a field trip to Gesture Tek to learn about the technology we would be using for the Prmier Awards. This technology is used mostly for advertising, but also they have developed some other platforms that help people with physo. Gesture Tek also has a couple ways of interacting with the screen. One way is playing games. You use your arm gestures and balance to control your character while being taped in a green screen. The green screen takes only you into the picture and then allows your to have a virtual simulated game with yourself. The most used software from Gesture Tek is the GroundFX and WallFX. These two are used at big events, malls and anywhere big companies would like to do interactive advertising to wow their costumers. We will be using the groundFx and wallFx at the premier awards. Two groups from Sheridan College in the IMM Program will be developing applications to be ran on the wallFX and groundFx platforms.

QR Codes

September 24, 2008 by pedulla

James introduced the idea of QR Codes, which opened my mind up a bit. To me this would make it much easier on flyers, products, etc to interact with the internet easier through your phone. I think advertising with posters would be more effective since the users would have to take a snap shot of the code and would be much easier then typing out the url. I can’t believe how many times I have been interested in a url and tried to remember it and by the time i get home I forget what it was. I think this idea will grow with in time once data plans become a bit cheaper.
